Trust and safety

Last updated: 6 October 2026

Our commitment

Every pet deserves a safe home and a healthy start. These are the rules we enforce, and the habits that keep you safe when you meet someone through PetsFindly.

1. What we do not allow

We remove any listing involving these and close the accounts behind them, and we work with the authorities where the law requires it.

  • Puppy mills: breeding in volume without regard for the animals' health or welfare.
  • Cruelty, neglect or fighting.
  • Fraud: fake listings, stolen photos, or deposits taken for a pet that does not exist.
  • Selling a species that is restricted or banned where you live.

2. How we keep PetsFindly safe

  • Every member verifies a phone number before they can message another member.
  • Breeder, shelter and vet badges appear only after our team has checked the documents behind them.
  • Your phone number and email are never shown publicly. A member has to spend a contact credit to see them.
  • New and higher-risk listings can be held for review before they go live.
  • A photo that has already been used on another listing is flagged for review.

3. How to spot a scam

  • The seller asks for a deposit before you have seen the pet.
  • The price is far below what that breed usually costs.
  • The seller refuses a video call or a visit.
  • You are asked to pay by gift card, crypto or wire transfer.
  • You are pushed to move the conversation off PetsFindly.
  • There are no health or vaccination records.

4. Before you breed

  • Both pets should be healthy, vaccinated and old enough for their breed.
  • Ask for the health tests your breed needs, and share your own.
  • Agree the stud fee and what happens if there is no litter, in writing, before the mating.
  • Follow local law and your breed registry rules.

5. Meeting safely

  • Meet in a public place, or bring someone with you.
  • See the pet in person before you pay.
  • Never pay the full amount upfront.
  • Keep your conversations in the PetsFindly inbox, so there is a record of them.

6. Report a concern

Use the Report button on any listing, or on a member in your inbox, or email support@petsfindly.com. If an animal or a person is in danger, contact your local authorities first.
